Based in Amsterdam, PISSWIFE’s activism wishes to speak to feminists all over the world, however still remaining in touch with our roots in the Netherlands. This is why every month, we’ll present to you an agenda of interesting readings, protests, lectures or exhibitions in this country that PISSWIFE will attend or that could be of interest to our readers. This month, these are our suggestions:
10th August – (DUTCH) Onverwachte maar officele opening van Kadett
Kadett is a new store in Amsterdam where you can buy multiple zines and other interesting publications. Their opening party is on the 10th of this month. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
15th August – (ENGLISH/DUTCH) Queer Choir for Women and Non-Binary People
If you love choir singinging, are looking to meet new people who also identify as a gender minority, this activity might be right for you! It takes place every second Wednesday from 20:00 to 21:30 at NieWland. The address is Pieter Nieuwlandstraat 93, 1093 XN Amsterdam.
18th August – (ENGLISH/DUTCH) Assertiveness and Communication Training
This seminar offers to train you in assertive communication. How to get to say what you want without becoming agressive, passive agressive or let people walk all over you. Being assertive is about getting your point across while you understand and take into account the views of others. The group will be small so there will be room for personal stories and connections. The training will include a workbook so you can take notes. The location is next to a subway station and parking is free. The atmosphere is educational, warm and social. You can get your ticket here.
